7/8 Inch Sterling Silver Round St. Dismas Medal, Patron Saint of Penitent Criminals

7/8 x 11/16 inch round satin and antiqued finish sterling silver St. Dismas medal on a 24 inch stainless steel rhodium plated chain. The medal pendant features a raised image of Saint Dismas, who is shown on a crucifix. Engraved on the pendant are the words "St. Dismas Good Thief Pray For Us" around the top of the pendant. The back of the medal is blank with a brushed finish. Includes an elegant deluxe velour jewelry box.

Saint Dismas was one of the thieves who was crucified with Jesus, who asked for Jesus' blessing while he was on the crucifix. As he asked for Jesus' blessing, he is known as the good thief (the other thief hanging did not ask for a blessing). Thus, he is known as the Patron Saint of prisoners and other penitent sinners.
